Congratulations to Dee Dee Wiley and Ron Averill For Being Recognized by VFW at April BOE Meeting
Thank you to Lansing VFW Post 12003 for recognizing two of our outstanding teachers during the April 8th Board of Education meeting. During the meeting, Lansing Middle School teachers DeeDee Wiley and Ron Averill were commended for their dedication to Lansing USD469.
"Mrs. Wiley was selected because she is the epitome of a teacher," said VFW Member Wendy Vodarick. "You can tell she truly cares—she lives and breathes being a teacher and caring for her students."
Mrs. Vodarick said they selected Mr. Ron Averill because has been a pillar in our school community for years. Not only does he do an exceptional job as our Technology Teacher at the middle school, but he also serves as our MS Varsity Wrestling Coach, MS Varsity Cross Country Coach, MS Varsity Track Coach.
"Lansing VFW Post 12003 is excited to recognize outstanding teachers every year, along with many other community recognition programs," said Mrs. Vodarick. "Our Post is always looking for new eligible Veterans for our organization and membership in our Post Auxillary (no requirements to join).
