January is Board of Education Recognition Month! Board Member Spotlight: Kerry Brungardt
January is School Board Appreciation Month! Please join us as we show appreciation to our school board members for volunteering their time and advocating on behalf of every child in our community. We will be featuring each school board member on the website throughout the month.
Today's spotlight will be on our Lansing USD469 Board Vice-President, Mr. Kerry Brungardt.
Mr. Kerry Brungardt is, first and foremost, a husband and dad. He was married for 33 years to Michele Brungardt and became a widower in August 2020. He has two boys- Nick, who is 33, and Joe, who is 28. Both boys received an outstanding education from Lansing, USD 469.
He was a teacher for eight years at Ft. Leavenworth, a proud principal at Lansing Middle School for 31 years, and is now retired. His church of choice is St. Jospeph Catholic Church in Leavenworth. His son Joe and he cantor at Mass at least twice a month. He has been a member of the Lansing City Council since 2009. In November 2023, he was elected to the Lansing Board of Education.
