Early Childhood Team Promotes Family Engagement and Team Unity Thanks to Lansing Educational Foundation Grant
The Lansing Educational Foundation was very generous to the Early Childhood Program this year. The Early Childhood Team received a grant to promote Family Engagement and Team Unity. Teachers, related service providers, and paraprofessionals came together to tye-dye t-shirts for all the students and staff members. It was Janie Garrett's first time tye-dying, and she helped rubber band shirts for all the early childhood classes. Each classroom made their own unique shirts to wear to in-house field trips, unity days, and other special events throughout the school year.
The Early Childhood afternoon students and 4-year-old daycare students were able to wear their shirts when Jay and Leslie came to perform Emotion Detectives in September. Children were introduced to techniques to manage overwhelming emotions and identify and name feelings and emotions in a fun interactive way. This performance was possible because of the Drama, Drama, Drama grant from the Lansing Educational Foundation.
