Lansing USD469 Band Directors Present Clinic at KMEA In-Service Workshop
On Thursday, February 22nd, our USD 469 band directors, Bill Turley, Aaron Edwards, and Blake Vignery, presented a clinic at the statewide Kansas Music Educators Association In-Service Workshop in Wichita. They were selected to present by the KMEA State Board after being approved through a rigorous application process.
Their session, "Student Satisfaction Matters: Strategies to Increase Student Enjoyment and Engagement in Ensembles," was aimed at sixth through twelfth-grade choir and band educators. Topics covered included how to have fun with high standards, how to create community within your classroom, how to develop an encouraging growth mindset, and how to develop leadership within the classroom. The session was well received by music educators in attendance.
Great work, Mr. Turley, Mr. Edwards, and Mr. Vignery! Thank you for representing Lansing USD469 and sharing your knowledge and talents!
