March 4, 2024 Board of Education Staff Member of the Month: Sarah McArdle
Lansing USD469 congratulates Sarah McArdle for being recognized during our March 4, 2024 Board of Education meeting.
Ms. McArdle is a kindergarten teacher who embodies the spirit of compassion, empathy, and unwavering commitment to her students.
She was nominated by a parent who had this to say about her:
"I met Ms. McArdle in August when she became my son's kindergarten teacher. My son has high-functioning Autism and ADHD. He struggles to regulate his emotions and has big reactions to a lot of things. Even knowing my son would probably require extra time, care, and attention, she welcomed him with open arms. She talks to him and helps him work through those emotions. She holds his hand when he needs it. She gives him space when he needs that. He says that Ms. McArdle is his best friend, and I truly believe that is true because she treats him as though he is no different. She treats him with compassion and empathy. I know that no matter what happens or how his day has been, Ms. McArdle has had his back. As a mother, that is the best anyone can hope for. But as a mother of a special needs child, that is something I thought I would never say about anyone outside of my family. She has made a huge impact on his life, and I will be forever grateful!"
These words encapsulate the essence of Ms. McArdle's extraordinary impact on her students and their families. Her ability to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported is truly commendable.
