April 11, 2022 Board of Education Recognition: Connie Hamilton and First-grader Spinner Miller
During the April board meeting, the Lansing USD469 Board of Education voted and approved recognizing one stand-out staff member and student at the beginning of the regularly scheduled board meetings.
Lansing USD469 would like to congratulate Lansing High School Registrar Connie Hamilton and first-grader Spinner Miller for being our April Board of Education Staff Member and Student of the month!
Mrs. Hamilton was selected for being a stand-out employee at Lansing High School:
"Connie has been the high school registrar for all 17 years that I have been here. Not only is she the registrar (which is a full-time job), she is also the "secretary" for the guidance office, guidance office staff, and social worker, and she is the first person that students and parents meet when entering our offices. When new students move into our district, she is the first contact with them and their families. She gives freely of her time and talents and puts in the extra time and attention to make Lansing High great!"
Spinner was nominated by a teacher who chose him for his work ethic and positive attitude:
"Spinner was an outstanding kindergarten student in my class last year. He has an outstanding work ethic and is self-motivated to learn and be his best every day. This year he is a first-grade student. I regularly visit with Spinner in the halls before school, and he is always so positive about school and greets each day as an opportunity to learn something new. I see him in the halls every day, and he is an amazing role model to his peers, always showing expected behavior and being a leader. I visited with his first-grade teacher not long ago, and she told me that Spinner continues to be a leader in her class and is always striving to grow as a student and a friend."
Thank you to our Lansing USD469 board members, Jeff Bolin, Carla Wiegers, and Aaron Yoakam, for serving on the BOE Recognition Committee.
