Lansing High School Students Shine at Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art Annual Regional High School Art Exhibition.
Lansing High School's talented art students recently showcased their creativity at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art's annual Regional High School Art Exhibition. Out of numerous submissions from 22 participating schools, Lansing proudly presented the artworks of five standout students:
- Kaitlyn Porcelli (10th-grade)
- Gwynevere Buie (12th-grade)
- Anne Vodarick (12th-grade)
- Emma Yates (10th-grade)
- Elizabeth Cook (12th-grade)
This exhibition featured a diverse array of 180 student submissions across nine categories. A panel of three anonymous professional artists selected by the museum evaluated the entries, ultimately giving out 48 awards, including first-, second-, and third-place distinctions, along with three Honorable Mentions in each category.
Among the talented Lansing representatives, two students were honored with awards:
- Gwynevere Buie received 1st place in the 2-D Mixed Media category for her piece titled "On the Wing."
- Kaitlyn Porcelli secured 1st place in the Drawing Multi-color category with her artwork titled "Death."
Lansing USD469 is incredibly proud of our high school Art Teacher, Mr. Jason Barnes, and all participants for their remarkable contributions to this showcase of artistic talent.
