Lansing High School 2024 Graduate Ainsley Yoakam Awarded $7,500 Scholarship and Alumni Megan Warner Named Mentor of the Year
Congratulations to 2024 graduating senior Ainsley Yoakam, who was awarded a $7,500 scholarship through the Greater Kansas City ACE Mentor program.
Ainsley was a student in the Engineering program taught by Dr. Anne Krebs, as well as the Architecture and Construction Program taught by Mr. Glenn Rosario. Through her leadership, hard work, and determination in the ACE program, Lansing High School was also the “Overall Winner” at this year’s culminating design competition held in November of this past school year.
ACE Mentor is a national organization meant to introduce high school students to the world of Architecture, Construction, and Engineering by providing professional mentors and on-site visits to construction sites and professional offices to provide insight into these fields. This year, our students were able to tour the new “KC Current” stadium in downtown Kansas City while it was still in the construction phase.
Ainsley will attend Purdue University in the fall to major in Civil Engineering. Her $7500 scholarship is the most any student Mr. Rosario has ever been awarded in the sixteen years he has sponsored the program.
Also, our Lansing lead Mentor Megan Warner (a Lansing and K-State Grad) was recognized as the “Mentor of the Year” for the Greater Kansas City ACE Chapter.
Congratulations, Ainsley and Megan!
