Legacy Singers Perform for KS BOE Brown vs BOE 70th Anniversary (VIDEO)
Lansing USD469 is proud to announce that Lansing High School Legacy Singers performed for the Kansas Board of Education and Commissioner of Education Randy Watson and the Kansas State Department of Education in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Brown vs Board of Education decision.
The group then had the opportunity to tour our state capitol, and they performed the Star-Spangled Banner in the rotunda.
"The Legacy Singers started the year with a daunting project, preparation for a KMEA convention performance," said Choir Teacher Brian J. White. "They met all obstacles with a relentless pursuit of excellence and ambition, galvanizing them into an extended family. They have been a model of excellence in music and excellence in education as we all learned from each other on our journey."
Mr. White said he is thankful to have worked for and learned from this group of students, who truly exemplify the meaning of legacy and live out their ensemble name.
"Through this, we are enriched and embraced the opportunity of sharing that with others as well."
