Record Fall FastBridge Scores Showcased at October Board of Education Meeting
During the October Board of Education meeting, our District Leadership Team provided an update on our fall FastBridge screener data. This baseline data will inform our decisions when it comes to instruction, student intervention, and enrichment. We are proud to announce these are the highest fall benchmark scores that we have seen since beginning FastBridge testing in 2018.
Here are some specific building highlights:
Early Childhood:
- Inclusion for all 4-year-olds in the district.
Lansing Elementary School:
- 1st grade early Reading scores are the highest since MTSS implementation in 2017.
- 80% of students meet the benchmark, a first for this early in the year.
- 7% increase in 3rd-grade students at grade level for oral reading fluency compared to last fall.
Lansing Intermediate School:
- Meeting intervention needs of tier 3 students (and some tier 2).
- Improved fluidity for timely student support.
- Stronger leadership and advocacy from our MTSS team.
Lansing Middle School:
- Improved usage and identification for tier levels based on Fastbridge scores.
- Tier revamp for better student support.
- Incremental improvement in baseline scores, especially in fall testing this year.
- Increased scores from one grade level to the next in 3 out of 4 tested areas.
Lansing High School:
- Grades 9-12 completed Fastbridge reading assessments; grades 9 and 10 also took math assessments.
- Teachers use scores to guide instruction and student improvement.
- Interventionists have been working closely with students on individual needs.
- Students set and monitor goals for the year along with staff.
District-wide:
- MTSS meetings are used for in-depth data analysis, driving necessary adjustments.
- We have accessible data through our "ION" data warehouse.
- Consistent growth has been observed from grade level to grade level and building to building, showcasing the system's effectiveness.
Our high school math interventionist, Ms. Christina Hoverson, is proud of the work of our DLT and MTSS team in improving student achievement:
