Lansing USD469 COVID Policy
With the new school year and the recent uptick of COVID cases in our area, Lansing USD469 wants to make our parents and staff aware of our current COVID policy.
A person testing positive for COVID will need to stay out of school/work for five days from the start of symptoms.
Ex: symptoms began Saturday, 8/20. The return date would be Thursday, 8/25. Masks are recommended for five days upon return.
Close contacts (including household close contacts): Continue in school regardless of vaccination status. Masks are recommended for ten days. If they develop symptoms, they need to stay home for five days from the start of symptoms OR have a negative COVID test to return earlier.
The Lansing USD469 school board voted in March 2022 to cease daily reporting of COVID cases in our district. We also do not notify families of close contacts.
If your student is feeling unwell, we ask that you consider having them tested for COVID. Students with a fever >100.0 will need to stay home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication. Students experiencing vomiting/diarrhea will also need to stay home until they are vomit/diarrhea-free for 24 hours.
Our nursing staff continues to monitor cases across our district, and we will notify parents and staff if cases rise to 3% or higher across the district.
