Question: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and the role you have within the school district?
Answer: I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and am currently working towards my Master’s degree. I grew up in this community and look forward to planting roots and giving back. I recently got engaged and will get married next summer! I am excited to start my teaching career as a SBS special education teacher at Lansing Elementary School. As a Social Behavioral Skills teacher (SBS), I specialize in teaching social skills and behavior management skills to my students. We work in a small group setting, so I am able to individualize my instruction. I also support my students in their general education classrooms to provide positive transitions and successful learning experiences.
Question: What do you enjoy most about your role and the work you do in the school district?
Answer: As a new teacher this year, what I enjoy most about my role is getting to meet/know all the students, teachers, and staff. What I love most about my job is working with students in small groups and helping them overcome their challenges.
Question: When you're not working, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy?
Answer: When I am not working, I love to sit back and relax, go on walks, workout, cook/bake, and hangout with my family and friends!
Question: What piece of advice would you like to offer to students to help them succeed and make the most of their educational journey?
Answer: A piece of advice I would like to offer to students is always ask questions! Ask questions if you need help understanding something. It is always good to ask questions because it shows you are trying and working hard.
