Under the instruction of K-5 art teacher, Dawn Blankartz, the Lansing Intermediate School’s last year's fifth grade class created a leather mosaic lion. Students cut the leather and carefully placed the pieces to create this beautiful and unique piece of art. Once the leather lion was complete, Glenn Rosario, the Industrial Technology teacher at Lansing High School, and his students cut a piece of birch-veneered wood into a circle, routed the edge, and stained the wood. The finished birch was returned to Lansing Intermediate School, and the lion was mounted onto the wood.
The lion will be hung in the entryway of the Intermediate School.
