Lansing Intermediate School Holds "Clap Out" for Retiring Custodian Jerry Whisler (VIDEO)
Lansing Intermediate School students and staff dressed up as their favorite custodian, Jerry Whisler, on his last day on Friday, May 10th and held a clap-out for him as he left the building.
"Scary Jerry," as he is affectionately referred to, is retiring after 17 years with Lansing USD469.
"Jerry has always been a stalwart at LIS," said Principal Martin Altieri. "He takes pride in his work and sets high standards for our school's custodial staff. Jerry likes to portray himself as a tough guy, but he has a soft side and a big heart for our students. We have enjoyed Jerry's professionalism and banter, and he will be sorely missed. With that being said, I am extremely happy for him. Jerry's retirement is well-earned and I know he will love spending time riding his Harley across this great nation. We couldn't have asked for a better head custodian at Lansing Intermediate School."
Lansing USD469 wishes Mr. Whisler good luck on this next chapter of his life!
