Lansing Elementary School Celebrates Black History Month through Presentation
On Friday, February 23rd, Lansing Elementary School hosted a Black History presentation organized by second-grade teacher Wykeya Taylor. The event was a success and showcased area performers. The production featured Leavenworth and Lansing students and graduates and three third-grade student MCs for the program - Spinner Miller, Lola Burton, and Pierce Herrera.
Performers featured were:
- Ron Coaxum - opened and closed the show with saxophone solos "African Heritage" and "Lift Every Voice and Sing."
- Ziara Stowers - dance soloist who performed a captivating dance called "Dreams."
- Leavenworth HS POC Step Team - performed their step team performance
The Black History presentation at Lansing Elementary School was a tremendous success. The performers showcased the beauty and richness of African American culture—special thanks to Wykeya Taylor for organizing the event and to all the performers for their outstanding performances!
