The proposed field exploration includes 4 pavement cores/borings performed using a truck-mounted coring machine. After the pavement is cored, grab samples of the granular subbase materials (if present) will be collected. Samples of the clay subgrade materials will be collected by driving thin-walled tubes with a sledgehammer.
Laboratory tests will include moisture content, dry density, grain size distribution (sieve), and unconfined compressive strength. Following completion of the laboratory tests, we’ll prepare a subsurface exploration report that contains the field and laboratory test results. No engineering recommendations will be provided.
The subsurface exploration report can be provided within 10 days after the subsurface exploration.
Our lump sum fee to complete this scope of services is $3,600. This includes locating private utilities in the vicinity of our boring locations.
