Jeff Bollin, President
Elected: November 2021

Mr. Jeff Bollin is entering his third year as a member of the Lansing School Board. He is a lifelong resident of Leavenworth County; however, his family and he moved into the Lansing School District five years ago. His wife is a Lansing graduate and is currently employed at the District office. They have two children, an 8th grader at Lansing Middle School and a sophomore at Lansing High School. Mr. Bollin graduated from Pleasant Ridge in 2000 and then attended North Central Kansas Technical College (NCKTC), where he graduated in 2001. He has worked in heavy highway construction for the last 22 years as a union operator and seven years as a Project Superintendent. Most recently, he accepted a position as a Project Manager. He was a member of the Kickapoo Township Volunteer Fire Dept. for 18 years and served as department treasurer for 10 years. He is also involved with Leavenworth County 4-H as a volunteer. "I am serving on the board to make the Lansing students the number one priority. I want to help make Lansing the district everyone looks up to." |

Kerry Brungardt, Vice-President

Mr. Kerry Brungardt is, first and foremost, a husband and dad. He was married for 33 years to Michele Brungardt and became a widower in August 2020. He has two boys- Nick, who is 33, and Joe, who is 28. Both boys received an outstanding education from Lansing, USD 469. He was a teacher for eight years at Ft. Leavenworth, a proud principal at Lansing Middle School for 31 years, and is now retired. His church of choice is St. Jospeph Catholic Church in Leavenworth. His son Joe and he cantor at Mass at least twice a month. He has been a member of the Lansing City Council since 2009. In November 2023, he was elected to the Lansing Board of Education. His passions include home improvement projects, traveling, attending KU sporting events, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. "I absolutely love Lansing and USD 469. The community and staff have been so supportive of me and my family. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the community and school district. I want to do everything possible to support the students, faculty, and support staff of Lansing USD 469." |

Amy Cawvey

Mrs. Cawvey was elected in November 2021 and took office in January 2022. Her family moved to Lansing in January 2016 after her husband of 31 years retired from the Air Force. They have two adult children, an 18-year-old daughter who is a Lansing High School graduate, and a grandson. Traveling from assignment to assignment, she has valued the opportunities presented for community involvement. She served twice as president and once as vice president for the Parent Teacher Organization and was an elementary school substitute teacher at her children's schools. She has been a Boy Scout and Girl Scout troop leader, soccer and softball coach, and a volunteer sailing instructor in the community. "I ran for the school board to be a voice for the community. In any decision, I pledge fiscal responsibility and to vote in the best interest of taxpayers, school staff, parents, and, most importantly, students." |

Pete Im
|
Mr. Pete Im was elected in November 2023 to a four-year term on the Lansing School Board. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. Mr. Im and his wife Jeanne were assigned to Fort Leavenworth in 2003, making Lansing their home. They left Lansing after their tour and returned to Lansing in 2013 with their two sons. The Ims have been a Lansing Schools family ever since. Mr. Im grew up in Traverse City, Michigan, and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. He earned Master's degrees during his military career from the National Intelligence University, the Army Command and General Staff College (School of Advanced Military Studies), and the Army War College. He retired from active duty in 2016 and has served as an Army Civilian Professional ever since. Mr. Im's interest in serving on the Lansing School Board comes from his belief that you can measure the quality of a community by the way it values and enables education and educators. Mr. Im is committed to bringing his skills and leadership experience on behalf of our Lansing community. Mary Wood

Mary Wood is in her second year serving on the Lansing USD469 Board of Education. She is a lifelong Lansing, Kansas resident. She attended first grade at Nine Mile School in rural Lansing (Leavenworth County) and second through 12th grades in Lansing USD 469. She worked for The Sisters of Charity from the time she was in the 8th grade until she graduated from Lansing High School in 1976. Mrs. Wood attended Kansas City Community College and then started her career in the orthodontic field, working for the orthodontic group of Drs. Radke, Hoffman, and Fry. She continued to work there for the next 42 years and is now retired. She enjoys spending my time traveling, gardening, spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Wood was married to Greg Wood for 19 years, who is now deceased. She has one daughter, Natalie Wood, who also attended the Lansing school district from kindergarten through 12th grade. Natalie graduated from Lansing High School in 2018. "I was very involved in community services and fundraising for K-12 in Lansing since 2005. I wanted to continue serving our community and felt the Lansing School Board was a great opportunity to do so. I am excited and looking forward to serving my community as a board member!" |

Kirsten Workman

Kirsten Workman is a Christian, a wife and mother, a registered nurse, and a professional educator. She holds a bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, and a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Education from the University of Texas at Arlington. Kirsten has practiced nursing since 2009 and has several years of full-time teaching experience as a university-level nursing instructor. She is a patriot, enjoys gardening and reading, and is an active volunteer in our community and her church. |

Aaron Yoakam

Aaron Yoakam was elected to the Lansing USD469 Board of Education in 2019 and previously served as President of the Board. Although he has only served on the board for four years, Mr. Yoakam said that it feels like ten with the pandemic. He grew up in Lansing and attended the Lansing School District from kindergarten through twelfth grade. He attended Pittsburg State University, moved back to the Lansing area after college, and is currently working as the Director of Building and Grounds for Leavenworth County. Mr. Yoakam is married to Felicia Yoakam, who used to teach in the Lansing School District. They have two sons and a daughter. Mr. Yoakam has spent countless hours volunteering in our community. In addition to serving on the Lansing USD 469 School Board, he has been a youth wrestling coach, youth baseball coach, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and serves on the Consolidated Water District #1 Board of Directors. "My initial reason for running for the school board was to expand the CTE programs and to support Lansing’s growth in education as the continuous change in expectations from the State and Federal government make education difficult for our staff." |
