Michele Dittemore, Paraprofessional at Lansing High School
Question: How long have you worked for Lansing USD469?
Answer: 8 years
Question: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and the role you have within the school district?
Answer: I was raised north of Weston Missouri in the small town of Rushville. I went to college at Southwest Baptist University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Music degree and a clarinet performers certificate. I have two grown children. My daughter works for the VA in Leavenworth and my son is stationed in Alaska. I work in the SLC2 classroom at the high school.
Question: What do you enjoy most about your role and the work you do in the school district?
Answer: What I love most about working with my students is seeing how much they've grown and learned and how I have impacted their lives. Whether it be with learning or with just being able to put a smile on their face.
Question: When you're not working, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy?
Answer: Spending time with my family, and I play clarinet for the Greater Kansas City American Legion Band.
Question: What is something unusual about you that most people don't know?
Answer: In 5th grade I was chosen out of the audience to conduct the Air Force band.
Question: What piece of advice would you like to offer to students to help them succeed and make the most of their educational journey?
Answer: Always have a positive outlook on life, put your best foot forward, and never give up.
