Concepts:

8th Grade Mixed Choir students are expected to take choir for a full year (fall and spring semester).  Students will be singing everyday and be expected to perform in at least 2 concert settings per semester. Students in 8th grade choir will perform 2-4 pieces per concert. These pieces will fit the Lansing School Districts Standards which states that "students will sing literature representing diverse genres and cultures (which may include folk songs, gospels, spirituals, popular, musical theater, sacred and secular vocal literature). This is a Co-Curricular Performance-Based Course and students are expected to participate in (graded) concerts. Students are also graded daily on rehearsal skills. There is a $15 activities fee that applies per semester ($30 for the full year) for this course (charged to skyward account).

Students enrolling in just 1 semester (fall or spring) of 8th grade mixed choir must receive prior approval from Mr. Ketterman for enrollment. Additionally, students must have been enrolled in at least 1 semester of choir in 7th grade before enrolling in 8th grade choir or audition. Get a form from Mr. Ketterman if you were not in choir for 7th Grade and need to audition to be in 8th Grade Mixed Choir.
