Fourth-Grade Teachers Use Space Theme To Teach Math and Reading Concepts
The 4th grade students had a fun day with activities all related to space earlier this semester. The kids were just finishing up their multi-digit multiplication unit in Go Math. They visited different planets around the room to complete space related multiplication problems.
“This is a fun way to review for our test!” said one of Mrs. Hanson’s fourth graders, “Let’s do this everytime!”
For Reading, the students completed activities about First and Second hand accounts. Learning the difference between if the person was actually there, or told by someone who wasn’t there. Early finishers had space books available to read and learn more about space exploration. As a final treat the kids got to enjoy their own moon pie treat after working hard on all the space related activities during the day.
