Lansing's Desoto Road work to begin March 15
Weather permitting, the contractual start date for work on Desoto Rd. in Lansing is Sun., March 15. The city of Lansing, it’s contractors, the city of Leavenworth and the Kansas Dept. of Transportation are partnering on the project, which will impact the north end of Desoto Rd. as well as the intersection of Desoto and Eisenhower Rd. The project is expected to be completed this fall.
Mobile message boards have been placed in several locations advising motorists of the traffic pattern changes. Vehicles will no longer be able to access Desoto Rd. from Eisenhower or Shrine Park Rd. during construction. Eventually, east and westbound traffic on Eisenhower will be impacted, and eastbound traffic on Eisenhower will no longer be able to turn north on Shrine Park Rd. while the project is ongoing. The easternmost entrance for Dillon’s Supermarket on Eisenhower Rd. will only allow right-in/right-out traffic, but the westernmost entrance will remain open.
