Lansing students celebrate Kansas Day on Wednesday, January 29th
Students at Lansing Elementary School had fun learning about the great state of Kansas during the week of Kansas Day, which is traditionally held on January 29th each year. Kansas Day has been observed since 1877 and commemorates Kansas entering the Union as the 34th state on January 29, 1861. Students in our district did a variety of different activities during the week including learning about famous Kansans, creating Kansas hats, eating sunflower desserts, and practicing writing using Kansas vocabulary.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KANSAS!
