Lansing Middle School helps those in need through Angel Tree donations
It has been a tradition at Lansing Middle (LMS) School to host an Angel Tree which provides Christmas gifts for families in need. Mrs. Maggie Peterson, LMS social worker, was in charge of this year's tree and did a fantastic job organizing and bringing in donations.
The tree was set up in the front office at the middle school and had seventeen families and forty-six children in need hanging on it. Thirty-five stars were adopted by teachers and staff in the district and forty-eight families in our district provided donations. The stars that weren’t adopted were covered through gift cards and other gifts brought in.
"We had enough donations to provide gifts for all forty-six children," said Mrs. Peterson. "I’m so excited about this and can’t believe how much stuff we ended up getting!"
