Mr. Riggs started the school year off with a collaborative STEM activity, which allowed his fifth grade students to start working together right off the bat.
"Students were given a yard of yarn, a yard of tape, spaghetti noodles and 1 marshmallow," said Mr. Riggs. "They then had to collaborate within their group to build and accurately measure the tallest freestanding tower. It was sticky, but fun!"
