Lansing students compete in AAU Junior Olympics
Lansing students Zayliah Bronson, Zy'Quira Bronson, Liam Niedig, Jamale William, and TJ Robinson competed in the AAU Junior Olympics in July and each represented Lansing well. According to their website, "AAU Junior Olympics are the pinnacle competitions held annually by the US Amateur Athletic Union." The event has multiple categories of sporting events, ranging from Taekwondo to Cheerleading. Our Lansing athletes all competed in the Track and Field events.
Lansing athletes competed in the following Track and Field events:
- Zayliah Bronson - Lansing High School - 4x100m relay
- Zy'Quira Bronson - Lansing Middle School - 100m, 200m, and 400m
- Liam Niedig - Lansing High School - 2000m Steeplechase and 1500m
- Jamale William - Lansing Middle School - Shot put and Discus
- TJ Robinson - Lansing High School - 800m and 1500m
TJ Robinson placed 5th in the 1500m, and Liam Neidig placed 3rd in the 2000m Steeplechase. Liam was also a featured on the MileSplit USA website for his accomplishments at the event and overcoming gastroparesis, a rare stomach disease.
