Fifth Graders Present their Personal Learning Projects in Mr. Riggs classroom
Fifth graders in Mr. Riggs class are finishing the school year strong by presenting their culminating projects on the last week of school.
"The PLP (Personal Learning Project) allows students to choose whatever topic they're most curious about at the moment and conduct research about it," said Mr. Riggs. "Students then write a 1-2 page paper to tell what they learned, while incorporating all of the skills we've learned this year in class. The final step (this week's activity) is the presentation gallery. Students create a presentation about their topic. Presentations can be something digital like an iMovie or Google Slides creation, or something more traditional, such as a tri-fold or poster. I invite other classrooms to visit us so that my students can talk about their research as the other classes walk through the gallery of displays."
Great job on all your hard work, fifth graders!
