LINCS students and teachers spruce up Lansing Intermediate School
Lansing's Special Education LINCS (Learning Independence in Natural Community Settings) program has been a wonderful addition to the Lansing Intermediate School this year. They have worked on many cool projects including a craft and plant sale earlier this month. Their most recent project was working on making the front entrance of the school more appealing by cleaning it up and planting flowers.
"We enjoy sharing space at LIS with our district’s adult education program," says Lansing Intermediate School Principal, Mrs. Sue Anderson. "Our school has benefited all year from the wonderful adult students, as well as their teacher and para helpers, who are a part of LINCS. Not only have we benefited from their fantastic baked goods, and crafts, now they are beautifying our front flower beds. After being empty for 3 years, the beds were in definite need of a makeover. The LINCS staff and students cleaned out the beds, added pavers, planted flowers, and trimmed the roses back, and now we have blooming roses. So proud to be a Lion!"
